Our 2011 Annual Awards will be presented at our Annual Dinner & Awards Evening in London. The 2011 awards are the same as those presented in 2010.

Owner members can nominate their rider for the Rider Award - £500 + trophy
Owner rider members can apply for the Shearwater Owner Rider Award - £500 + trophy

Nominations can be sent in at any time during the season until 21st October 2011.
These were presented at our Annual Dinner on 2 November at the Royal Thames Yacht Club, Kensington.
Winner selected from candidate riders nominated by their member-owners. Award presented by Rebecca Kashti and Sian Champkin of Darbys.
Winner: Jo Chipperfield who was nominated by her owners, Caroline Jenks and Judy Curtis. “Jo is a complete perfectionist and utterly professional in her approach,” they say.

Recipient chosen by Susan Lawton, who also presented the Award on behalf of Shearwater Insurance.
Winner: Sarah Jennings, of whom Susan says, “Her determination and bravery make her a worthy winner.”

Awarded to the owner of the horse which is registered at the beginning of the season as Grade 3 or 4 (0-21 BE points) and which gains the most points in the season. Jeremy Lawton, managing director of Shearwater Insurance, made the presentation.
Winners: Fred and Penny Barker for Kilronan, ridden by Paul Tapner. Kilronan started the season with 20 BE points and finished it with 128.

Given to the owner whose horse, registered for the first time with BE, gains the most points in the season. Presented by EHOA Chairman Judy Skinner.
Winners: in a dead heat for this year’s award the winners are Matthew and Richard Palmer with Be My Guest II, ridden by Clayton Fredericks, and Catherine Witt with Parklane Hawk, ridden by William Fox-Pitt. Both horses gained 160 BE points in the season. As Catherine Witt couldn’t be with us, Marietta Fox-Pitt collected her award.

Awarded to the owner of the horse which gains the most BE points in the season, the sire or dam of which is a full Thoroughbred. Presented by Jeremy Skinner.
Winner: Teresa Stopford-Sackville with Cool Mountain, ridden by William Fox-Pitt, which gained 473 points in the season.

presented to the overall winner of Eventing magazine’s ‘Owner of the Month’ Series. Judy Skinner handed over the award.
Winner: Val Gingell.

In adddtion the following British Eventing Awards were presented by Alex Fox, the Chairman of BE.
Calcutta Light Horse Trophy: given to the owner of the horse with the most points won this season.
Winner: Cool Mountain ridden by William Fox-Pitt; the owner is Teresa Stopford-Sackville.
The Wide Awake Trophy: presented to the breeder of the horse with the most points won in the season.
Winner: Cool Mountain. The breeder is Jane Pilkington who sadly could not attend; her daughter, Melinda Wilson, accepted the trophy on her behalf.
