Major Richard Waygood is a top eventing rider who holds the highly prestigious
post of Riding Master for the Household Cavalry. He has spent over 25 years
working his way up through the ranks to hold this highly respected position.
His success in eventing over the years led to him being the first serving
officer in over 20 years to compete at Badminton in 2002. He has since competed
there a further three times.
Richard is ranked in the first 100 of the British Eventing Rider Rankings.
He is a British Eventing accredited trainer, holds a BHS Award of Merit
and has been the Chef d’Equipe for the Riding Clubs European Championships
from 1998 – 2003. He teaches event riders at all levels and has had
the luxury of competing for the International Military Event Team in such
places as Sweden, Italy, Portugal, France and Belgium to name but a few.
He is a proven trainer and even finds time to Chef d’Equipe for the
riding clubs Rural Riders, training them to international medal status.
I attended one of his EHOA training sessions last year and benefited hugely
from his expertise and advice. He also has a great sense of humour!
